St. Cloud State University men's hockey coach Bob Motzko has announced that seniors Nick Oliver (Roseau, Minn.), Tim Daly (Maple Ridge, B.C.) and Andrew Prochno (Minnetonka, Minn.) will serve as team captains for the upcoming 2014-15 season. An alternate captain for the Huskies in 2013-14, Oliver will serve as the team captain in 2014-15, while both Daly and Prochno will serve as alternate captains for St. Cloud State this winter.

"We are very excited to announce our team captains," Motzko said. "Nick Oliver will serve as our team captain, his leadership, heart and care for this program and team are undisputable. He has the respect of each and every teammate and staff member. He will carry out his leadership duties with the respect and passion on what has been built here and pay it forward.

"Prochno and Daly will serve as alternate captains and bring the same respect and passion to our team. We could not be more pleased to have this group carry on the leadership responsibilities needed for success."

A draft pick of the Nashville Predators in 2009, Oliver has played forward in 105 games during his college career at SCSU. He is a graduate of Roseau High School and went on to play junior hockey with Fargo of the USHL. An All-NCHC and All-WCHA Academic Award winner, Oliver and has posted four goals and 10 assists for the Huskies.

A standout on the SCSU blueline over the past three seasons, Daly was named the Huskies' Wiiliam Radovich Award winner for most improved play in 2013-14. Last winter, Daly charted two goals, seven assists and 53 blocks for the Huskies. In 103 career games for the Huskies, Daly has posted four goals, 10 assists and 107 blocks. He is a resident of Maple Ridge, B.C. and played junior hockey with Langley of the BCHL before his move to St. Cloud State.

Prochno is on a record setting pace during his college career as he already ranks seventh all-time among SCSU defenseman for career points scored at 76 (13g/63a). An All-NCHC Honorable Mention in 2014, Prochno scored three goals and 16 assists during his junior season. He also added 54 blocks and was an impressive +20 on the plus/minus in 2013-14. In three seasons at SCSU, Prochno owns a +51 rating on the plus/minus.

A resident of Minnetonka and former junior player for Sioux Falls of the USHL, Prochno has received All-NCHC and All-WCHA Academic honors during his college career along with All-WCHA Rookie Team accolades in 2012.

This trio of Huskies has helped lead their team to consecutive regular season conference championships in 2013 (WCHA) and 2014 (NCHC) along with two consecutive NCAA tournament bids during those same seasons. A 2013 NCAA Frozen Four participant and the 2013 NCAA Midwest Regional champion, St. Cloud State has won a total of 64 games over the past three years.

St. Cloud State University will open its 2014-15 season with a 7:07 p.m. exhibition home game on Saturday, Oct. 4 against Trinity Western University at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. SCSU will then kickoff its regular season at home on Oct. 10-11 with a weekend series against non-conference opponent Colgate University.
