ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The St. Cloud Northwood franchise has confirmed their name switch to the St. Cloud Rox.

It's a blast from the past as the St. Cloud area had a San Francisco Giants minor league affiliate from 1946 until 1971 named the Rox. The blast from the past will now feature a new logo and mascot.

The Rox will continue to play at Joe Faber field and comepete in the Northwood league. Last season the St. Cloud Riverbats finished last season with a 33-37 record, 11.5 games out of first place.

The Rox open their season on May 30th when they take on the Duluth Huskies, their home opener is Saturday June 2nd, when they host the Mankato MoonDogs.
