FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The brother of a man accused of attacking 10 people the St. Cloud mall before being killed by an off-duty police officer won't be released from a North Dakota jail to attend the funeral.

East Central Judicial District Judge Thomas Olson on Wednesday refused to temporarily release 27-year-old Abdullahi Adan, of St. Cloud.

He is the brother of Dahir Ahmed Adan, who authorities have accused of going on a knife attack Saturday at the Crossroads Center mall.

Court records show Abdullahi Adan pleaded not guilty to two felony drug counts in July.

He is being held at the Cass County Jail.

Abdullahi Adan's attorney did not immediately return a call seeking comment on the case.
