ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - It was a special moment for an amazing 8-year-old country music fan from Albany.

Riley Spindler got to spend time with his favorite country music morning show The Wild Wake Up on Wild Country 99. (Sister Station of KNSI)

The Cold Spring Elementary 3rd grader has been listening to the show since he moved to the area two years ago.

He met hosts Kris Valentine and Matt Wood, was treated to more than a dozen CDs, some T-shirts, and got to sing Sam Hunt's Body Like a Back Road to the Wild Country audience.

His mom, Arin, says Riley has been blind since birth because of a genetic disorder called Leber congenital amaurosis, but she says he doesn’t let that stop him.

"He has low vision, he can see dark shapes and things like that, but the biggest thing about Riley is his personality and love of music. Music just flows out of this kid and every song he hears, he picks up, and he wants to play on the piano and is jamming all the time."

Since he can't see he commits all the songs to memory. Riley started learning to play the piano at age four.

Some of his favorite country singers include Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt.
